Nothing is impossible. Perhaps you’ll get a real Pokémon hug, high-five Super Mario, haggle with a goblin or burst into song with Ariel?

You’ll meet a number of independent guest Cosplayers – with Cosplay characters from every corner of popular culture milling around the convention. The word Cosplay was coined in Japan in 1984, although the tradition of dressing up at conventions has existed in the USA since 1939.

Join in on the competition or spectate when the best costume is crowned in the Cosplay Contest.
Juniors/kids up to 15 years old compete in their own category.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION
We have several prize categories. Everyone is welcome, beginners (maybe this will be your first competition?) to those with previous competion experience alike. Don't want to compete, but still want to show off your creation? That's okay too! The most important thing is that you are having fun.

GOLDEN TICKET TO THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN COSPLAY
Cosplay has become a serious artform and form of competion where you can compete locally, nationally and internationally. Every year, ten of the most skilled creators qualify for the national championship in cosplay. At Malmö Game Week, we will hand out one golden ticket (qualifying round) to the national championship.
