Regulations for street music
Here you find the guidelines for playing music on the streets and squares of Malmö. The guidelines in the local environmental regulations are made to make street music more enjoyable experience on the streets and squares of Malmö.
The guidelines apply to everyone playing music on the streets and squares of Malmö. If you have a permit from the police department to play street music, you are required to follow the terms and conditions specified in that permit and not the ones stated here.
Some areas have special rules for when and how you can play
In certain areas in the inner city you are not allowed to use speakers or amplifiers. Here you can only play during the day between 10.00-19.00. These rules apply to the following areas:
- The Old town of Malmö (from Malmö central station and up towards the inner city)
- Davidshallsbron
- Södra Förstadsgatan between Davidshallsbron and Friisgatan
- Around the shopping mall Triangeln.
Play at the same location for maximum two hours
You are allowed to play street music in the same location for a maximum of two hours per day. After two hours you have to move beyond hearing distance from that location.
