The Nordic Model®

3 May —18 August 2013

The Nordic Model® is an exhibition about the museum's collection, its history and its future. The project is the initial stage in a future effort aimed at studying how the collection was created, its focus on Nordic art, but also how it can be developed in dialogue with the contemporary art scene.

The title, The Nordic Model®, refers to Malmö Konstmuseum's Nordic profile, and the exhibition discusses what the term “Nordic" means today. In 2011, “Nordic Model" was registered as a trademark in Sweden. Has the Nordic concept become a marketable brand in the global economy? The exhibition features a combination of selected works from the collection, recent acquisitions and a series of new projects created specifically for the occasion.
