Guided tour of the castle
Join us on a journey into the castle's dramatic history. From Erik of Pomerania's 15th century castle all the way to today's museum.
Many are the life stories and events that have passed through the years. Some almost unnoticed, others with noise and crashes. Danish coins have been minted at Borggården and the Danish kings lived at Malmöhus Castle during their visits to Malmö. During the 19th century, the castle had lost its significance as a fortress, but was used instead as a prison. During that time, Borggården was also used as an execution site.
Malmö Museums was inaugurated in 1937 and since then the castle has been part of the museum. Learn more about the museum's exciting history at one of our tours!
Numbers are limited so the guided tour will be on a first come basis. The tour is included in the entrance fee to the museum. One of our guides will meet you at the museums reception.
