Malmö Folkets Park
Malmö Folkets Park
In Malmö Folkets Park (People's Park), people of all ages meet throughout the year. After being threatened closure in the 1990s, the park as it is today has been transformed into one of Sweden's most visited destinations and a place that is loved by the people of Malmö.
The park is operated by the City's Department of Streets and Parks. However, there are also a large number of tenants who operate their own businesses. Malmö Adventure Golf, fNöjesteatern, Amiralen, the Terrarium, The Children's Stage, restaurant Far i Hatten and the culture hub Moriska paviljongen are some of the businesses. Each week, year round, there is a wide range of events in the park, but many also come here to have picnics, meet friends or just take a walk.
The visit can be tailored to what the group is interested in and can be combined with visits to one or more of the businesses in the park. If you would like to combine your visit with a meal, we can put together a package with a stop at one of the restaurants in the park.
Suggested topics during a visit:
- A people´s park of our time. How to keep a 120-year-old going strong without breaking entirely with tradition?
- Towards the same goal. Thirteen businesses and a municipal park´s management work to keep things together. How does one work with such a collaboration?
- A meeting place for all. In the People's Park, people celebrate the Midsummer Holiday and the National Day, yet also the Persian New Year, Turkish Children's Day and other international festive days. How does one work actively to create a place that includes everyone?
- Creative processes. A people's park in constant development requires creative work. We are happy to tell you about how we work with creative processes to develop and innovate within the municipal boundaries.
