While exploring the city during World Floorball Championships there are some things that are good to know to further enhance your experience and make your visit even more pleasurable!
No bags at Malmö Arena or Baltiska hallen!
One good thing to know beforehand is that it due to safety reasons will not be allowed to bring any bags into Malmö Arena (except for 1 small handbag max 20 cm x 10 cm x 1 cm or a small bag for medical purposes).
Swedish tapwater - refill and refresh!
Sweden's liquid gold – pristine tap water! Quench your thirst sustainably as you explore Malmö. With a simple refill - embrace the convenience and eco-friendliness of refilling your bottle, ensuring hydration without compromise.
So refill and refresh - but have a look at the venues info beforehand so they are ok with you bringing your own bottle!
Getting around town is really easy and quick
In Malmö everything is close. Much is reachable by foot - but if you need a ride to get to the place to be there are plenty of options! Just rent a bike or hop on a gas-powered citybus - and you will be there in a flash! Have a look at the map to know which train station or bus station is closest to where you need to go.
Currency & tipping
Please note that many shops, museums and restaurants only accept credit cards or mobile payments. Major credit cards (some restriction may apply to American Express) are widely accepted throughout Sweden in banks, hotels, stores, restaurants, taxis, at car rental companies, and for air, ship and rail tickets. The monetary unit is krona (SEK).
Tipping in Sweden isn't as established as in many other countries. It's always welcomed but not expected!
Smoking really is becoming a no-no
Sweden is a country that works hard at becoming more healthy and smoke free! Smoking is prohibited in restaurants, public indoor spaces and several public outdoor areas! This includes outdoor areas relating to public transport, outdoor serving areas, entrances to premises and indoor spaces that the public have access to. As the first city in Sweden, Malmö has public smoking zones. Equipped with an ashtray, a trash can and in some cases phone charging possibilities (all powered by the solar panels on the bench), they reduce littering in the streets!
Emergency
Call 112 if there is an emergency and you require immediate assistance from the police, rescue service or ambulance! If it is not an emergency call 114 14.

The security situation in Sweden and Europe means that we will work with various types of security measures at all our events. Follow the recommendations from national authorities and organizations.
