A new Malmö stadion

Skanska invites respondents to an open pre-qualification for the upcoming parallell architectural commission regarding the design of a new athletics and football facility of internationally high class. Four teams have now been chosen for the parallell commission.

Stadionområdet, the Stadion area in Malmö, is one of Europe's largest sports areas and a cluster for sports, education and events that attracts visitors and participants from far beyond Malmö. A new stadium for athletics and football is set to enrich the area, expected to be completed by 2028.

The stadium will be located where the old Malmö stadion currently stands but will share the same orientation as the adjacent Eleda Stadium. It will accommodate 8,000 seats, all under a roof, and will meet international standards for both athletics and football competitions. The facility will include spaces for changing rooms, training facilities, areas for representation and media, as well as storage for athletics equipment and operational needs. Additionally, the facility will feature at least one space for public services, such as a restaurant with an outdoor seating option.

All the information about the competition is available in both Swedish and English via the link below.
