What is the International Baccalaureate?

More than one million students, in over 5,000 schools worldwide, are enrolled in one of the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes offered. Developed in 1968, the IB has grown to become one of the world's most esteemed educational systems and is viewed as the premier path to higher education and top universities.

Why Choose the International Baccalaureate?

IB students typically develop the skills, mindset and confidence to do well in life. An IB student prepares for the future:

  • by learning how to think critically
  • by strengthening their communication and research skills
  • by connecting knowledge across subjects
  • by taking ownership of their own learning
  • by growing into internationally minded citizens who appreciate different cultures and perspectives.

IB students develop strong academic, social and emotional characteristics. Teachers and students focus not only on what to learn, but how to learn.

Knowledge, Ambition and Committment

As a school, we value and promote knowledge, ambition and commitment. Our aim is to help you reach your full potential and provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to become a lifelong learner in a global context.

Our students regularly participate in national and international competitions with great success. You can also choose to join one or more of our many Creativity-Activity-Service (CAS) and student clubs – or start your own!

Teachers on the IB

All teaching staff are certified with a Swedish teaching licence. Additionally our IB teachers are trained within the IB-system, and a number of them are also IB examiners.

The IB Learner Profile

The IB Learner Profile describes a broad range of human capacities and responsibilities that go beyond academic success. They imply a commitment to help all members of the school community learn to respect themselves, others and the world around them.

Skilled Thinkers

The IB Diploma Programme is exceptionally strong in the areas of key cognitive strategies, problem solving, critical thinking, analysis, research and writing skills. Through the IB curriculum, IB students develop the ability to interpret, analyse, think critically and present arguments.
