Setting the Tone of the Exhibition – The Anatomy of Exhibition Openings

Setting the tone is an expression from the world of music. It indicates that one is starting or opening a piece of music. We recognize how the first lines of a book can draw us in, or how the opening notes of a song can evoke emotions. But how can the same effect be created in an exhibition?
