A series of pioneering residential construction projects has attracted international attention and put Malmö on the map as one of the world’s top cities for sustainable city development.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG:s) of the 2030 Agenda are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace and justice.
The Commission for a Socially Sustainable Malmö, or the “Malmö Commission" finished their work in 2013. The Commission was independent and consisted of fourteen commissionaires, each with specific areas of expertise within the domains of social sciences, health economy, urban studies and the city of Malmö.
The City of Malmö aims to make it easy for residents, industry and the municipality itself to make sustainable choices when it comes to commodities, services, travel, and waste management.
