Diploma scores. In May 2025, 25 % of Borgar students received
38 points or higher.
The IB Diploma is marked out of 45 points, with candidates gaining up to 7 points for each of the 6 subjects studied – and 3 further points for the combined results of their Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge.
Only 0.12% of IB Diploma students worldwide achieve a perfect score of 45 points. The world mean is around 29 points. A score of 36 points and above is a classified by the IB as a Distinguished Pass.
Historically, the world pass rate for the IB Diploma Programme is 80%.
