Öresundsmetron / The Öresund Metro

To make sustainable travel easier, Malmö will connect to Copenhagen’s metro system through a tunnel between Malmö Central Station and Copenhagen Central Station.

Malmö has grown between the sea and the agricultural landscape of Skåne. Some of Sweden’s most fertile farmland can be found here.

That is why the city should primarily grow within Malmö’s Outer Ring Road, helping to protect farmland and preserve the landscape around Malmö.

Hamnen / The Port

The port has been an important part of Malmö for more than 250 years. It continues to grow to be able to handle the transport and freight flows of the future.

Malmö plays an important role as a hub for freight transport in Europe.

A new business district and an entirely new residential area are being developed here. Malmö needs a wide range of job opportunities so that all residents have the opportunity to support themselves.
