Urban Academy
Urban Academy is a platform that brings together businesses, academia, civil society and the public sector to address the lack of representation in the built environment sector.
Their ambitions are high: a built environment sector that reflects all of Malmö within one generation. To join Urban Academy, organisations must share the platform’s vision and sign a number of commitments.
These commitments cover schools and higher education, working life and leadership. These areas are essential for strengthening innovation in the built environment sector – innovation that risks being lost when there is insufficient representation among those who plan and build our communities.

- Measure our progress towards better representation within our organisation.
- Appoint a diversity ambassador within our organisation.
- Establish or actively work with our organisation’s inclusion policy.
- Contribute to the development of inclusive education.
- Carry out and report on our actions to increase diversity.
- Promote greater representation in the sector.
- Raise awareness of Urban Academy.
