Fee verification
You are receiving this information because you have either overpaid or underpaid for a pre-school or after-school care placement in 2023. The invoice tells you whether you need to pay or whether you will get a refund (kreditfaktura).
The fee verification process
The City of Malmö has received information about your household’s total annual income for 2023 from the Swedish Tax Agency. The annual income is divided by 12, giving an average monthly income. This amount is then compared against the income information that you provided to the municipality. If you have paid too much, you will receive a refund. If you have paid too little, you will need to make an additional payment.
If you have received an invoice that you cannot pay
If you are unable to pay the whole amount of your invoice, you can apply to postpone the final payment date. You can postpone the final payment date for a maximum of three months from the due date stated on the invoice. You will pay interest until the invoice has been paid in full.
You can also apply to pay in instalments for a maximum of one year from the due date stated on the invoice. When paying in instalments, you will pay interest on the amount. An administrative fee of SEK 170 will also be added to the invoice for the first instalment.

If you are entitled to a refund
If you have received a credit invoice, you will be reimbursed after the due date of the invoice. For information about the options for a refund, please visit malmo.se/avgiftskontroll.
