Admissions

We welcome applicants to our International Baccalaureate (IB) Programmes from inside and outside Sweden. Take the opportunity to give yourself an outstanding international upper secondary education that is recognised and respected throughout the world.

Students Living in Sweden

You can apply to the IB at Malmö Borgarskola regardless of where you live. Your application should be submitted through a central admissions department (Gymnasieantagningen). In January of the same year you're due to begin your studies at upper secondary school (gymnasieskolan) all students in year 9 will receive information from the admissions department about how to apply.

Overseas students

Students applying from overseas for a place on one of Malmö Borgarskola's International Baccalaureate Programmes should do so using the linked application form below.

N.B. Before completing the application form, please note that you will need to include a copy of any grade transcripts from the student's current school as well as a scanned copy of the student's passport.

Important Dates

  1. Application open January 15th 2024 and last day of application is February 15th 2024 to the Pre-DP/Pre-CP programme
  2. Applicants to Pre-DP/Pre-CP will be called to the mandatory Entrance tests (in math and english) in mid-March. Information to students.
  3. By mid April you should have received a preliminary decision on your application.
  4. Last day to make changes to your application is May 15th.
  5. Late applicants will be called to mandatory entrance tests (in math and english) in late May.
  6. The final decision is made in the beginning of July.

DP1 and DP2 have no open admissions. Any application should be sent to magnus.andersson3@malmo.se (Head of IB Programmes), with a copy to anna.ellmark@malmo.se (IB-DP Coordinator).

These applications will be looked at in late May after the transfer of current Pre-DP students to DP1 and DP1 students to DP2.

N.B. Borgarskolan's Career-related Programme only accepts applications for the first year (Pre-CP). No admission to CP1 or CP2.

Requirements for Pre-DP applicants
  • At least nine years of school (corresponding to the 9th Grade of Swedish Comprehensive School)
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Passing test results in Mathematics and English (applicants will receive an invitation, sent by email, to sit their Entrance Test at some point after the application deadline).   • N.B. Students applying from outside the Swedish school systems should read the additional application requirements under 'Application for Overseas Students' (see link above).

  • Good written and spoken English
  • Passing test-results in Mathematics and English
