Greater Copenhagen and the Skåne Committee
Since year 2000, Malmö and Copenhagen have had a common vision to promote cooperation and integration within the regions. Through close cooperation, Malmö and Copenhagen would be able to create a common Øresund Region with the vision that the inhabitants of the two cities would distinguish themselves as citizens of a coherent urban region.
Greater Copenhagen and the Skåne Committee
Since the beginning of 2016, Malmö is part of the Greater Copenhagen and the Skåne Committee. The cooperation is a new platform replacing the Öresund Committee. Two regions and 46 municipalities from eastern Denmark are included, as well as Region Skåne and 33 municipalities from Region Skåne.
The cooperation has five main purposes:
- Supporting the joint marketing of the Greater Copenhagen.
- Supporting cooperation of investors, tourists, businesses and talents.
- Work to create a strong international infrastructure.
- Work for an integrated and sustainable growth region, and to influence the legislation and border barriers, which are measured to be barriers to growth.
- Establish joint strategic business initiatives.
